Themed Pediatric Dental Offices for Greater Houston Practices
Greater Houston is one of the two largest pediatric dentistry markets in Texas, and new offices keep opening along the Grand Parkway, I-10 and US-290 as families move to Katy, Fulshear, Cypress and Richmond. In a market that crowded, the office itself becomes part of your marketing. Cool Stuff Studios designs, fabricates and installs custom themed environments for Houston-area pediatric dentists, turning waiting rooms, hallways and operatories into spaces kids are curious about instead of afraid of.
We are a Dallas-based design-build team with 21 years of experience and more than 600 projects completed. We are based in Dallas and come to your Houston-area office in person for site visits and installation, managing the pediatric dental theming package turnkey, from concept and 3D design through fabrication and install.
What a Themed Office Does for a Houston Practice
A strong theme works on three audiences at once:
- Children, who arrive with fewer fears when the first thing they see is a sculpted reef, a jungle canopy or a rocket launch pad instead of a clinical lobby
- Parents, who choose practices partly on how their kids react, and who share photos of standout features in reviews and on social media
- Your team, who benefit when patients arrive calmer and waiting time feels shorter
For practices competing in Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Pearland or the Heights, a signature environment is one of the clearest ways to be the office families remember and recommend.
Theming Packages for Every Part of the Patient Journey
First Impressions: Exterior, Entry and Reception
Dimensional signage and an entry feature help your suite stand out in a busy strip center or medical office building. Inside, a themed check-in desk and feature wall set the story from the first step.
Waiting Room and Sibling Play
Interactive wall panels, climb-and-crawl features, themed benches and small soft play zones give kids and siblings something to do, while sight lines keep them visible to the front desk.
Corridors and Wayfinding
Floor graphics, themed room signs and storytelling murals guide families from reception to treatment and keep the theme going between rooms.
Open-Bay Operatories and Private Rooms
Ceiling features, chair-side murals and sculpted centerpieces make open-bay treatment areas feel unified, while calmer visuals help in private rooms, imaging and sedation spaces.
Brushing Stations, Restrooms and Parent Spaces
Small themed details in hygiene areas and restrooms, and a more grown-up look in consultation rooms, make the whole office feel finished.
Mascots and Photo Spots
A character sculpture of your practice mascot, a themed photo backdrop or a bravery wall gives every visit a shareable moment that reinforces your brand.
Designed for Clinical Reality
Healthcare spaces have rules that decorative work cannot ignore.
- Infection control. We favor sealed, nonporous, wipeable finishes and durable materials anywhere kids can reach.
- Humidity and durability. Houston's climate is hard on materials near entries. We specify finishes intended to hold up to constant cleaning and heavy use.
- Clearances and equipment. Theming is laid out around dental chairs, delivery systems, cabinetry and imaging so it never slows down your team.
- Play safety and codes. For soft contained play, the applicable standard is ASTM F1918. We coordinate with your architect and contractor on fire-rated materials, egress and accessible routes required by your local building official.
Working With Your Houston Design and Construction Team
Most Houston pediatric offices are built by a team: an architect or interior designer, a general contractor and a dental equipment supplier. Cool Stuff Studios fits into that team as the theming and play specialist. We take your floor plan and finish schedule, develop a theme and 3D design for approval, coordinate blocking, power and ceiling details, then fabricate and install on the construction schedule. For an operating practice, we plan install windows to limit downtime.
Our Process
- 1. Consultation. We review your brand, patient ages, square footage, plans and timeline.
- 2. Concept and 3D design. You approve the theme and layout before anything is built.
- 3. Fabrication. Sculpture, play features, murals and signage are built to the approved design.
- 4. Installation. We travel to your office in person and install on an agreed schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Dallas-based company handle a Houston project?
Yes. Design and 3D modeling happen in our studio, and we travel to Houston in person for site visits and installation. Travel is built into your proposal and schedule from day one.
What does pediatric dental theming cost?
Budget depends on the rooms you theme, the size of sculpted and play features, and finishes. We give you a range after reviewing your plans. Our planning guide explains how to phase a project to fit your budget.
We already have an interior designer. Do we still need you?
Your designer handles the clinical interior. We add the themed storytelling and play features, and we coordinate with your designer so both parts fit together.
Can you refresh an older office without closing?
Often, yes. We can phase installation and work in agreed off-hours windows.
Can you build around our existing logo or mascot?
Yes. We can carry your practice's logo, colors or mascot through sculpture, murals and signage.
